The disaster in Japan has caused a lot of misery for its people. A 9.0 Earthquake, 30 foot Tsunami, Ten Thousand or more people perishing, people suffering without electricity, food, water, heat and other basic essential, Nuclear reactors in a meltdown scenario, the fear of radiation spreading.

Indirectly, I have been affected by the disaster in Japan and DTAMP has as well.

I was in a trade with all the DTAMP funds in the shipping stock "EGLE" before the catastrophe in Japan and the stock dropped giving me substantial loses. I was also in personally in the stock and this was the second big drop I endured since last November. I could not risk any more with the DTAMP funds so I bailed out.

DTAMP had its own Meltdown, losing $517.11 and setting it back for the second time in two years with big stock losses.

It is very discouraging. I sold on St. Patrick's Day. There was no Green to be found only RED!!

There is a long road ahead to rebuild DTAMP. Although my loss is nothing to compare with the poor victims of the disaster in Japan, I can identify, at least in a very tiny way, with the heartbreak of things being lost suddenly.

My heart and prayers go out to the people of Japan in their desperate time of need.

When it comes to DTAMP growth is a good thing. The stake grows bit by bit and the capital is added to the next venture to help increase the potential for growth.

Since my last post I have managed to grow the stake a bit with the largest amount coming today. I completed the stock trade I mentioned at the end of the last post, and although it was touch and go there for a while, it took off today and I took the profit.

The stock: Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc.(NasdaqGS: EGLE)

I also managed to find some change on the ground at various places....($0.10) .

I mentioned last time that I was ill, in some pain, and the doctors have been running tests. This is where growth is NOT a good thing. The ultrasound found a growth in my bladder. The doctor doesn't know what it is and I will have to go for a procedure called a Cystoscopy next week.

If there is a growth, as indicated, they will need to remove it and take a piece to analyze.

I do not want to use the "C" word in my description here today as it is disturbing.

Your thoughts and prayers would be very much appreciated during this time. My hope is whatever they find, if anything at all, that it is benign.

Double A Penny - Step 20 - The Eagle Has Landed

I made the first trade of 2010 and it was mildly successful.

It could have been a lot better but I just could not wait and did not follow my plan to hold longer term.

I had been watching this Stock for awhile: Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc.(NasdaqGS: EGLE)

The stock has been swinging up and down and looked promising for a DTAMP trade. I had been waiting for it to drop to around $4.50 although I wasn't sure it would get down there.

On January 4th, 2010 the stock popped up a little and I decided to jump in. I got it at $5.25, which was higher than I really wanted it, but I had a feeling it was going to keep going at that point.

I was planning on holding it until it got up into the $6.50 - $6.75 range. But I just couldn't do it. I sold it off at $5.54 instead.

The next day it kept going up hitting a high of $5.89. :-(

A profit of $196.01 is not bad for DTAMP.
