My definition of OptoMystic is: ...One who has the ability to look into and vaguely see the murky future of the upcoming year, whilst holding a position of believing in a favorable outcome, yet still being rather pessimistic about it.

I must confess to a strong prejudice against 2009. It was one of the worst years of my life. Painful, tragic, traumatizing, tormenting and torturous, and those were it's good points.

I have learned through the years, to stop believing that when a New Year arrived, it was going to magically make life terrific and somehow actually be a better year than the year before.

OK, well maybe I haven't actually stopped believing it, but I am trying.

I came into 2010 still hoping that, at least, this year would not be as bad as 2009. But I thought that about 2008, 2007, 2006 and so on. Each year, amazingly, actually got worse.

2009 was the year of "Loss". I lost many people that had been a part of my life for quite awhile, I lost income, money, relationships, you name it. It is not that I haven't had losses in the past but they seemed to be further apart over time. The last seven months was the equivalent in losses for like a 14 year span.

So anyway, I still secretly hoped that 2010 would be better. But on January 2nd, something horrible happened. After a four year span of time without major incident, my computer got something nasty, something insidious and it managed to basically ruin my computer set up.

I have spent 3 days trying to get the computer rebuilt at least to a point of usability. But despite saving the files, which somehow turned out to just be a bunch of empty directories, I lost the last three years of emails and my address book.

So I do not have any records of DTAMP, my personal life, blogging info, and email addresses of anything or anyone that I have been working on for almost all of DTAMP's life span.

They are all gone...poof! The Loss will have unforseen consequences, no doubt.

So if you never hear from me it is because I can't find you anymore.

I hope this all is not a prelude as to what 2010 will turn out to be.
